late summer grasses
scolding jays reveal
the hidden cat
letting flower
the last of the basil
late summer sun
hazy sunset
wildfire smoke
bridges the two coasts
first frost
a dove’s tail feather
under the feeder
raising their voices
to greet the new day
backyard crows
tiny mushrooms
sprout from deer droppings
apple harvest

linked dragonflies
fly among haiku poets
shifting clouds
morning chill
I share my complaints
with the bathtub spider
threat of rain
above the perched hawk
a swirl of crows
low point
a small black bug crawls
down the beer aisle
