heavy rain
after weeks of drought
the trills of tree frogs
summer fog
an ocean somewhere
to my right
morning fog
the clatter of a catbird
on the suet
farmers’ market
the scent of lavender
through my mask
morning birdsong
anticipating a call
from an old friend
foggy day
the nostalgic note
in a dove’s coo
summer rituals
a deer fly circles my head
seven times
morning fog
somewhere overhead
a loon calling
morning fog
peony petals fall loose
around the vase
longest day
I watch the tide
come all the way in
longest day
our cat wakes us up
at dawn
