any flower . . .
taillights in fog
ducks at dusk
gliding upstream
fade to black
bluebirds . . .
moss greening
the shed roof
river glare
parsing last night’s dream
for the truth
ice-out
the white throat
of a loon
drowning out
the kingfisher’s rattle
whitewater
chipmunks emerging
the old cat chases
a leaf
a lone crow
wipes its bill on a branch
mud season
the niggling thoughts
that keep me awake
worm moon
March wind
the old ways
of doing things
morning fog . . .
the loud clear song
of the fox sparrow
