clear dusk
skim ice stills
the harbor
after the storm
playing in the snow
shadows of trees
blizzard
everything outside
scratching to come in
blizzard warning
all-day flurries
of feeder birds
glitter snow . . .
the car’s engine turns over
on the first try
winter sky
photons not pigments
blue the jay feather
overnight snow
the cold fingers
of the rhododendron
winter trees . . .
the big grey area
between life and death
wind chill
a squirrel circles
the tipped lawn chair
winter trees
the creaking of my joints
as I climb the hill
glare ice
aware of every
bone
