afternoon haze . . .
local strawberries
right out of the box
dawdling clouds
the usual woodchuck
grazes the lawn’s edge
pairs of stars
shining through the leaves . . .
night monkeys
(inspired by an image in my Nature Conservancy calendar)
approaching storm
the whitecaps
of field daisies
a clutch of eggs
under the broody hen
early morning heat
reeling
among the fairy houses
little wood satyr
running alongside
the drafts of my poem
bird list
longest day
the ovenbird louder and
louder
lake twilight
a nighthawk tilts
into the dark
summer solstice
the spice of nasturtiums
tossed in our salad
the wind
releases her hair . . .
morning tai chi
