morning mist
bumblebee barely rising
from the azalea
beaver pond
the patterns of water
that lead to the lodge
catbird’s shadow
or the catbird itself
amid the new leaves
so much rain
the blown-out umbrellas
of dandelion seeds
puffs of pollen
marking the warbler’s passage
through the spruce
Cathedral Woods
distant bell buoy
calling me in
deep in the woods
cinnamon fern unfurling
the wren’s long song
warbler fallout
the long half-life
of this joy
budding crabapple
taking it all
too personally
trading birdsong
for daffodils
green friendship
ecstatic swifts
perfect soundtrack
for a rainbow
