fall as a verb
crickets chanting
within the gale
island fog
whatever I imagine
out there
marsh rain
we run for cover
as the ducks emerge
island fog
we walk through
a new world
storm surge
the calls of the plover
diminish
island weather
intermittent showers
of spruce needles
weaving the air
over the pond
green darner
alder thicket
only the eye
of the flicker
island trail
walking into
the surf’s roar
incoming tide
a cabbage white flutters
along the shoreline
twilight moon
the lighthouse beacon turns on
the dark
