harborside dusk
the lingering pink
of lupines
a tiger swallowtail headlong down the trail morning sun
deep in a dream
of my childhood home . . .
blue damselflies
turning tide
amid the waves a seal
watches me wade
driftwood and trash
from that big winter storm . . .
first beach pea blossoms
Pebble Beach, Monhegan Island, Maine
a chickadee
shreds an apple blossom
cirrus clouds
splayed tulips . . .
pheasant chicks scatter
across the mown lawn
the way light
reaches the forest floor
hobblebush
clearing skies
three bluebird fledglings
crowd a branch
gull breeze—
apple blossoms spangle
the welcome mat
a mushroom growing
from a single spruce needle
island mist
Marasmius mushroom, Cathedral Woods, Monhegan Island, Maine
