backroads traffic
stopping to let them cross
wild turkeys
the next day
squirrels’ run-on sentences
scrawled in snow
snow still falling
as the crow flies
through bare trees
first snow
jay landing on the feeder
with a crash
unsolved mystery
lying in the crosswalk
a wooden cane
border crossing
ravens escorting an eagle
from their airspace
turning up Mozart
to drown out
the torrential rain
fall color
men in the prison yard
wearing orange watchcaps
fallen leaves
revealing what stays behind
birds of winter
waiting for the call
that the baby’s born
restless leaves
hey la
Orion’s back
crisp night sky
