face off
with a sunflower
high noon
afternoon fog
a phoebe fledgling
rehearses one note
morning heat
yellow day lilies spill
down the hillside
in quarantine
learning the harmonica
he’s got the blues
for Chris, and all those taking up interesting pastimes during the pandemic
morning light
swift shadows of crows
cross the lawn
humming to myself
something from childhood…
white-throated sparrow
reality check
my lucky rock clatters
in the dryer
island dawn
my neighbor’s chicken
lays an egg
fogbound
a snail’s silver trail
across the path
morning coffee
we listen to a robin
instead of each other
fog burning off…
the scattered lawn webs
sparkle
