Spanish moss haunts
the brick walkway
travel journal
from the airplane window
a river’s scrawls
crows still calling
beyond all-day parking
late winter twilight
last crabapples . . .
a line of hearts follows
the deer
wave-worn granite
snow lingers along
the wrack line
storm-heaped seaweed
my shadow lurches
up the beach
ermine tracks . . .
snow on the hillside
reveals a clear cut
ice dams
none of the tracks in our yard
made by humans
morning moonset
out on the ice a sled
heaped with fishing gear
harbor ice . . .
a round of hammering
inside the docked ship
winter willows . . .
hiding the grey
in my hair
